A law enforcement officer based in Wailuku, Hawaii, Angela Kahoohanohano is a sergeant in the Maui Police Department. She works in the Criminal Investigation Unit. Before that, Angela Kahoohanohano was a receiving desk sergeant, the first point of contact for all people coming to the police station. She received complaints from citizens, conducted warrant checks, and filed temporary restraining orders. She also interviewed incoming prisoners, learning about their medical needs and making appropriate accommodations.

Angela Kahoohanohano has worked at the Maui Police Department for over 10 years. She previously worked in the Criminal Reduction Unit and was an officer at the Molokai, Kihei, and Wailuku police stations. In July 2019, she passed her Police Sergeant exams and on Oct. 1, 2020, became a police sergeant with the Hana Patrol. In this unit, she supervised and coordinated police operations relating to patrol, traffic, investigations, and special assignments. She also organized, trained, and directed the activities of officers under her command.

Angela Kahoohanohano earned an AS in Administration of Justice from Maui Community College. She has training in law enforcement ethics, anti-bias, de-escalation, crisis intervention, and the Reid Technique of Investigative Interviewing and Advanced Interrogation. Angela Kahoohanohano comes from a family of officers. Her father was a police sergeant too.
